Smile, it's Antony

Dance with the Devil

February 25th 2012

It's almost midnight. A black sports car sits outside a house. In the car, a man. He looks very professional, dressed in a suit and tie with a suitcase at his feet. Every once in a while he would look out of the window towards the house. The lights were on still, despite the late hour.

The door opens, and the man in the car looks up. There is a man walking out. He's the one that lives there, along with his wife and 2 children. The man from the house turns around, and kisses his wife on the cheek. She smiles back at him. Then, he walks down to the road, gets into his car, and drives away.

A man in the car moves, stepping out onto the street with his suitcase in his hand. He walks up the path, towards the front door. He presses on the bell.

The woman and the two children were later found dead. The woman had been shot as she'd opened the door. The two children were in bed at the time. They had heard the gunshots and come down stairs to see, and the man had murdered them.

And all the while, the man from the house drives on, oblivious.

That same man was sitting by his wife's body in the police mortuary. His name was Robert Blaze.

Robert was a detective responsible for putting many people in jail. Therefore, he could think of a lot of enemies. But that didn't help the fact that his family was lying dead before him.

He did not try to blink away his tears. Instead, he let them flow, strong and fast.
